The new Iona - the largest, family-friendly ship from P&O Cruises
The largest ship ever built for the P&O fleet equipped with an innovative LNG (liquefied natural gas) propulsion system to enable you to travel in an environmentally friendly way. The ship was named after the Scottish island of Iona. It is known for its picturesque landscape and breathtaking views of the sea. This is reflected in the ship's innovative design concept. The centrepiece of the Iona is the light-flooded atrium, which spans three decks and offers an overwhelming panoramic view of the sea thanks to its side glazing.
Family-friendly
Young passengers aged 2-17 can take advantage of the free programme offered by the children's and youth club "The Reef" on board the Iona. The programme is divided into four age groups:
- Splashers (2-4 years)
- Surfers (5-8 years)
- Scubas (9-12 years)
- h2o (13-17 years)
Iona SkyDome
The SkyDome is unique in the cruise industry. With its glass dome roof and generous layout, it is flooded with natural light. During the day, this area invites you to relax by the pool. In the evening, the SkyDome transforms into a must-visit event venue. In addition to parties under the stars, spectacular aerial acrobatics performances are also shown here.
Entertainment & relaxation for the whole family
Four pools await you on the Iona, three of which are outdoors and one indoors. In addition, 18 whirlpools invite you to relax. In the spa area ‘The Retreat’, adults can enjoy the peace and quiet and be pampered with a wellness treatment. Children's entertainment is provided in our children's clubs. Special activities are offered for every age group, and there is an exclusive pool deck for teenagers.
Culinary options are open to you in over 15 restaurants. In addition to the four main restaurants, there are eight speciality restaurants such as ‘Sindhu’, which serves Indian dishes, or ‘The Beach House’, where you can enjoy grilled specialities and seafood.
